In the first quarter of 2025, the Dominican Republic saw significant activity in the Photo and Video app category. According to Sensor Tower data, the top five apps showcased varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users.

CapCut - Video Editor from Bytedance Pte. Ltd experienced a consistent rise in weekly revenue, peaking at about $22.3K by the end of March. Downloads fluctuated, starting strong at 44.3K in early January and stabilizing around 33.5K towards the quarter's end. Weekly active users peaked at over 1M in early January, with some fluctuations throughout the quarter.

YouTube, published by Google, saw a decline in weekly downloads from 12.6K in early January to approximately 7.1K by the end of March. Revenue showed a high of $85.8K at the start of the quarter, decreasing to around $55.9K. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 4.5M.

Instagram maintained steady download numbers, starting at 53.8K and finishing the quarter at 56.2K. Revenue began at $15.8K, with a slight dip to $11.2K by March. Active users showed minor fluctuations, maintaining a robust presence around 3.7M.

Canva: AI Photo & Video Editor saw a steady increase in downloads, peaking at 30.3K in late March. Revenue also rose, reaching $21.7K in February. Active users grew from 263K to around 368K by quarter's end.

TikTok Studio faced a fluctuating download trend, starting at 10.9K and ending at 8.3K. Active users rose from 46.6K to almost 60K by March.
